Lex Update

It's been a while since I gave an update on Lex. He still loves trains more than anything, but he is starting to enjoy a few new things, too. He just recently discovered his stuffed animals and loves to give them hugs and kisses.

Lex has really started talking more lately. He will babble on and on about something. When he gets started on a story, we can't understand what he is talking about, but we sure enjoy his chattering. His most often used words (that we understand) are Mama, Dada, Baby, Banana (nana), Ball, Bird, Choo Choo, Uh Oh, Help, Hello, Hi, Water, and Up. He has several other frequently used phrases that we haven't deciphered yet!
Lex also enjoys counting his toes -- he just mimics our tones when we count, so it goes "uh, uh, uh, uh, uuuuuuuuuh!" He has started singing lately, which was never one of Lex's interests before. His favorite song? Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

Lex also loves to pretend to be a puppy. He'll crawl around and pant like a dog, fetching different objects and bringing them to me in his mouth.

Well, I hope that gives you an idea of Lex's favorite things!

Birthdays

Getting ready for cake with Chris, Jackson, and Paula. My stomach is totally in that awkward pregnancy stage where it just looks like flab. I almost didn't post this photo since I was being vain! It has really popped out this past week.
Lex always cries when people sing "Happy Birthday".
Birthday Boy Jeremy
Last week Jer and I both celebrated our birthdays. Honestly, we had birthday burnout by the end of the week. Every year we have this, especially with Mother's Day landing the same week! By the time Mother's Day comes around, I just don't want anything done for me.

Anyway, whining over. It is fantastic having our birthdays so close when there is a big splurge we want to justify. We just didn't have anything we really wanted this year. Maybe next year we'll take a birthday trip. That would be fun! I honestly racked my brain for things I wanted but couldn't come up with anything. Jer was going to buy me the Kindle reader from Amazon that I've had my eye on, but I hate buying brand new technology that will likely go down in price in the next year. So, I bought some maternity clothes, and Jer got a $10 charger for his Wii controllers and a trip to the beach. Whoo hoo, big spenders!

Oh, above are some photos of my birthday. We didn't even bother with a cake for Jer's birthday since we still had half of my birthday cake in the fridge! We sound like the most boring people, don't we!?!

Excuses

It has been a very long time since I last posted on here, huh? Sorry! I am pretty much over the morning sickness part of this pregnancy, but I have these horrible migraines that are just crippling. I have a prescription for them, now, so I hope to be consistently healthy soon.

I told Jer that since I have migraines with this pregnancy and I didn't have them with Lex, perhaps this baby is a girl. He found some logical way to support his theory that this is a boy. But my official prediction is that it is a girl. We'll find out next month who was right!
A silly thing we do on my Mom's side of the family is enter information into the site boyorgirl.com, pay $2.99, and see what the gender prediction is. It has been right quite a bit, actually (much more than just 50% of the time). Anyway, it was right with Lex and this time it says Boy. We'll see. Either one is fine!
